Sue Gault - Piano

Chamber Music Tutor, Resident Accompanist, 2009 ASA Summer School

Sue Gault has a wealth of experience in teaching and coaching young performers. As a collaborative pianist, she has a special interest in working with teenagers, and in preparing students for competitions. She appreciates the pedagogical role of the professional accompanist in coaching young performers in ensemble skills, stage presentation, dealing with performance anxiety, and general musicianship. Her own students have won prizes in National, State and regional competitions in the USA.

Mrs Gault has a wide knowledge of the ensemble repertoire. As Honorary Director of the ASA's Collaborative Piano Summer School, she draws on decades of practical experience as a studio teacher and collaborative performer, and she looks forward to mentoring young pianists as they learn the skills of this highly rewarding but exacting profession. Mrs Gault has certification with the Music Teachers National Association in the U.S. Mrs Gault has degrees in Piano Performance and in Education from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, and a teaching certificate from Seattle Pacific University, Washington in conjunction with Western Washington University. She has studied with Dr. A. Loran Olsen and Prof. Emeritus Ford Hill, from Western Washington University.
